We came in second place in the competition for the construction project at Schönhauser Tor. Our design explores how this important urban hub can be developed into an open, lively place that fosters a sense of identity. The central element is a clear spatial gesture that combines movement, encounters, and quality of stay. A green façade also gives the place a new, distinctive atmosphere.
We warmly congratulate KSP ENGEL on winning first prize in a high-caliber field of participants that included contributions from David Chipperfield Architects and Sauerbruch Hutton.
Our thanks go to hhpberlin Ingenieure für Brandschutz GmbH, Sanne Plomp, and our entire team for their dedicated collaboration. We would also like to thank the organizers, Bentham Capital REM GmbH, for their trust and constructive dialogue.
