During the conference, a selection of projects of ecologically and socially sustainable residential buildings recently built in Finland, Germany and the Netherlands were presented. The projects presented at the conference were chosen because they meet the diverse and constant needs of an ever-growing and changing society. Designing high-quality residential buildings that offer flats of different sizes for singles, couples or families with children while being sustainable, cosy and affordable is a challenge not only for architects, but also for all players and partners in the property sector.
Eike Becker, Anssi Lassila and Lisa van der Slot presented a selection of residential buildings designed with environmental sustainability, climate change, energy saving, respect for people, technological innovation and architectural restoration in mind. Eike Becker presented our project "The Garden" in Berlin, which takes up the idea of the Berlin courtyard gardens from the 19th century in a contemporary way and combines the advantages of the city with those of the countryside.
