Building culture as a shared responsibility

Building culture as a shared responsibility

How do we want to live, and how must we build? At the Building Culture Convention 2026 in Potsdam, key questions concerning the built environment are taking center stage today and tomorrow.

Eike Becker is participating on both days of the convention. Forum 4, “How Do We Live? What Should We Build?”, focuses on housing as a matter of public interest: affordable, livable, socially effective, and architecturally ambitious.

On Thursday, the “Convention Day” will feature the presentation of the Building Culture Report 2026/27, “Shaping – Processes, Building, Cohesion.” In the subsequent panel discussion, Eike Becker will join Werner Sobek, Norbert Hermanns, Jörn Walter, Elisabeth Endres, and Jette Cathrin Hopp to discuss the report’s key theses and perspectives.

The convention underscores a central message: high-quality building culture is not created by buildings alone, but through values, processes, and a shared responsibility for cities and communities.
