In front of the main hall of the new Berlin Brandenburg International Airport, on the south end of the open plaza, is the Steigenberger hotel. The building in a block design on an area of 74 x 57 metres is six storeys high. You enter the four-star superior hotel through an arcade as high as two floors. The building's concrete structure is clad in matt natural stone slabs. Besides the reception and lobby the complete ground floor is dominated by a 1,500 sq m conference centre. From the first to the fifth floor the hotel boasts 323 single and double rooms and suites. The clear height of all rooms is 2.8 metres. Since late July the first model room has been open for the public to view, the opening is planned for the spring of 2013.
