The department of building (Bauordnungsamt) of the Berlin district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg finally gave permission of building to the high-rise "Spreeturm" close to the Ostbahnhof on October, 27th 2015. The construction services for the 15.000 m2 big and 74 m high office building were allocated to the general contractor BAM Deutschland.

After finishing the design planning Eike Becker_Architekten were commissioned with the construction planning. It is planned to start excavating the construction pit in June 2017. Start of construction is due in fall 2017.
