Eike Becker and Flavia Vilkama traveled to Mumbai, India, at the end of July to kick off a new international project: Eike Becker_Architekten, in partnership with Master & Associates, is designing the new headquarters for the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) in the G-Block of Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).
The MPCB is responsible for environmental protection and the enforcement of environmental standards across the state of Maharashtra. The new building is envisioned as a “green building that works,” where sustainability is not only expressed through design but proven through its daily operation.
The design focuses on a robust energy and climate strategy, enhanced user comfort, resource-conscious planning, and a design approach that responds to Mumbai’s climate and urban context. Transsolar KlimaEngineering is partnering on the energy and environmental strategy.
We look forward to this exceptional opportunity in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
