On June 10, 2026, Eike Becker will participate in Forum 4, “How Do We Live? What Should We Build?”, at the Convention on Building Culture 2026 in Potsdam. The forum explores housing as a matter of the common good, addressing questions of affordability, quality of life, social cohesion, and the role of housing in shaping neighborhoods and cities.
The discussion will draw on a number of exemplary projects, including Franklin Village in Mannheim by Sauerbruch Hutton, Collegium Academicum in Heidelberg, and the Regensburg Quarter by Behles & Jochimsen, as well as the long-term experience of Documenta Urbana. Together, these examples highlight new approaches to community building, housing standards, and sustainable forms of coexistence.
At 4:20 p.m., Eike Becker will conclude the forum with a summary of the key findings and offer perspectives on what contemporary housing needs mean for the future development of cities and municipalities.
