Not far from KaDeWe, on the site of the former Hotel Präsident, opposite the Urania and next to the listed Dellbrück tower block in City-West, on the street ‘An der Urania’, a new ten-storey building is planned. The height of the building is adapted to the firewalls of the neighbouring buildings on Keithstrasse in order to ensure harmonious integration into the urban fabric. The new building is primarily intended for flexible office space and a working environment that encourages communication. Commercial uses such as a café and co-working spaces are located on the ground floor along the street front, creating a lively, inviting ground floor zone and connecting the building with its urban surroundings.
An underground car park with sufficient parking spaces for cars and bicycles as well as technical and storage areas is planned for the basement. The façade design of the building combines a clear design language with high-quality, durable materials that relate both structurally and aesthetically to the surroundings and thus integrate the building into the urban environment. At the same time, good details give the façade a striking identity. In addition, a green inner courtyard is designed as a place of retreat in the urban context. The roof surfaces of the building will have a visitor terrace, which fulfils both technical and ecological functions and has a positive impact on the microclimate of the surrounding area. Overall, the project contributes to the upgrading of the urban environment through the combination of contemporary working environments, careful urban integration and sustainable utilisation concepts and sets standards for future-oriented architecture. The building will be one of the top addresses in City-West.
