Frankfurt is currently experiencing a dramatic change. There are many new developments around Opernplatz (Opera Square) and Goethestrasse, with ma|ro at the epicenter of the expansion and upgrading of the entire Opera Quarter.
Alongside two additional buildings on Neue Mainzer Straße, the seven-floor ma|ro has transformed the entryway to Neue Rothofstraße, providing prime real estate for offices in the best of locations. The sales and restaurant area of about 3,800 square meters offer first-rate spaces for 12 shops and catering facilities with large shop-window fronts spanning two floors and a ceiling height of up to five meters.
Since the building's completion in November 2016, office tenants have moved into flexibly subdivided areas of a total 8,600 square metres. The design aligns the complicated geometry of the properties and their varied connecting heights with the two neighboring buildings, whose design elements are reminiscent of hastily piled boxes: They are hurriedly stored, provisionally piled, sometimes with a gap, other times protruding and retracting, seemingly without rhyme and reason, piling up to a height of 32 meters.
A cantilevered glass roof covering the first floor separates the shop windows of the retail spaces from the office floors above them and offers protection against the elements for window shoppers. A three-storey underground garage offers space for 43 automobiles.
